The Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry is a non-profit educational and research entity dedicated to providing outcomes-based clinical training.
Founded in 1999, by Robert H. Gregg, II, DDS and Delwin K. McCarthy, DDS, the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry’s vision has been to impact the lives of dentists, their teams, and their patients by eradicating periodontitis with a new standard of care. It is our hope that the percentage of patients receiving treatment for gum disease would approximate the percentage of patients who seek general dental care.
Our mission is to provide relevant and timely education for effective, consistent, and successful treatment of moderate to advanced periodontitis using laser technology. It is our goal to reach more of the large number of underserved patients needing treatment for this condition but who have been avoiding necessary therapy out of fear. It is our hope that the percentage of patients receiving treatment for this disease would approximate the percentage of patients who seek general dental care.
Gum disease is a chronic infection that impacts the entire body. Unfortunately, many Americans do not have financial access to treatment. The IALD offers free treatment to patients suffering from moderate to severe gum disease through its program in Cerritos, CA. The IALD provides over $750,000 in free dental treatment to the community each year.
The IALD is an ADA-CERP and AGD-PACE recognized provider and has over 50 certified instructors who train dental professionals in laser dentistry techniques.
